Stakeholder Manager Riyadh
Role Summary
In order for the project to be a success, the project will require the active leadership support of a highly influential, well connected and respected Stakeholder Manager.
Reporting to the Project Director, the Stakeholder Manager and his team will represent the project team externally with public authorities, regulators and third parties. They will provide meaningful advocacy and will lead the innovative and strategic approach to managing stakeholder risk.
The Stakeholder Manager is a key role within the senior project team. The Project Director, and the senior team, which includes the Stakeholder Manager will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic planning from a stakeholder engagement perspective.
The chosen candidate will be working at a very senior level and will have the gravitas to network, influence and partner with over 90 public authorities and private bodies including the public works department, utility bodies, home and land owners, businesses located across the proposed alignment, ministerial administrations, civil defense department and the numerous other entities that will be affected by this major program.
The Stakeholder Manager will have considerable experience of delivering successful project roll-outs and the personal qualities and gravitas to influence in both a complex, matrix internal environment and with external bodies. In addition, they will be a creative, charismatic and engaging individual who shares our passion for this major project.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
•
Building and maintaining a network of industry partners, public authorities, government (local, national & international) and key decision who will help facilitate the successful build of the major project
•
Maintaining communication with external stakeholders and peers to remain knowledgeable about current industry precedents and practices and to look for ways to work cooperatively towards common goals
•
Ensuring technical transparency between authorities such as The Royal Commission of Riyadh City on matters which will have a direct affect on the development of national public policies.
•
Working closely with key Stakeholders
•
Maintaining knowledge of acquisition processes and timelines, and assist the client in ensuring timely and efficient surface land acquisitions and access.
•
Monitoring current and emerging stakeholder issues and trends, legal precedents and changes in the regulatory environment (political, social, environmental and industrial) that may affect the project strategy.
•
Working the client to enhance the project s image and to ensure successful community engagement through the encouragement of civic pride despite the initial adjustments and impact to the general public s daily lives.
Skill Set
The successful candidate will be a Saudi national with a strong track record of networking and building relationships at the highest of levels. The candidate must meet ALL the essential criteria below:
Essential
•
A minimum of 18 years related experience with a technical degree or above
•
Prior senior stakeholder engagement on a large scale project with multiple internal & external stakeholders
•
Ability to effectively develop an argument, persuade an audience and partner at a senior level
•
Ability to work collaboratively to with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders
•
Experience of managing others & taking the lead on a project of reasonable size or a number of smaller projects
•
Strategic thinker and an innovator
•
Proven experience working to tight deadlines within a changing environment
•
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•
Excellent judgment, assertiveness and diplomatic skills
•
Demonstrated ability in managing conflict in high-pressure situations
Desirable
•
Experience working in a multi cultural environment
•
Experience within either a government entity or on a large scale project
Education
A bachelor or higher degree in engineering or construction management is required.
Fifteen years of construction and engineering experience directly related to general field administration on significant construction projects is required. 10 years of the experience must be in responsible stakeholder management assignments involving independent construction and general office engineering decisions on international infrastructure projects.
