SUMMARY
The Sales & Marketing Director is responsible for managing the organization’s Sales & Marketing Department, including the hiring, training, coordination, and support of Sales & Marketing personnel. They set short-term and long-term goals/objectives, develop and manage the Sales Plan, and monitor and report on Sales & Marketing activities and progress.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develops and maintains productive sales and marketing organization; creates policies and procedures for departmental operations.
• Hires and supervises inside sales and marketing personnel and field sales representatives; monitors production and achievement of sales quotas; assists and supports sales personnel and reps as necessary; creates incentive programs.
• Develops initial training programs for new personnel and provides ongoing training for all sales and marketing personnel and representatives.
• Assists in development of sales and marketing strategies and provides appropriate sales and marketing programs, promotions, efforts and events including goal setting.
• Prepares written reports of sales and marketing activities including sales orders, backlog, forecasts, lost accounts, actual production to quota, etc.; provides timely briefings to CEO as necessary or as requested.
• Distributing the sales manual and making sure that this manual is distributed to all interested and involved parties.
• Applying the content of sales manual and making sure that all activities described is implemented within the boundaries of this manual, this shall be assured through proper documented training for all people involved in applying sales manual.
• Discuss, amend and approve changes and its expected effects on sales manual with all affected parties to make sure that it will not affect sales manual strategic objectives negatively.
• Developing the SALES MANAGEMENT PLAN and submitting the plan to other Department Managers for review and to CEO for approval.
• Create the overall goals and strategies of the Sales Department, which should be documented on a yearly basis in the SALES MANAGEMENT PLAN, and approved by CEO.
• Coordinate with the Business Plan which includes overall company goals and strategies to implement the Sales Department portion of company goals and objectives.
• Define the length of the sales cycle in the SALES MANAGEMENT PLAN for each of the sectors blending/recycling .
• List the types, frequency, and sources of marketing and sales reports to be submitted to Sales Management and to CEO in the SALES MANAGEMENT PLAN.
• Conduct regular sales meetings as defined in the SALES MANAGEMENT PLAN to review sales performance and plan future sales activities/strategies.
• Regularly review customer service activities and compare them to customer service goals in accordance with CUSTOMER SERVICE POLICY .
• Review the WEEKLY SALES SUMMARY in order to review Sales Department performance, and calculate and the actual sales cycle and record it on the SALES MANAGEMENT PLAN.
• Update the products prices as per the committee decisions in weekly basis to be used in issuing of price quotations.
• Review, follow up and approving sales operations and activities as per sales policy.
• Coordinate with Warehouse Supervisor for information about stock availability for each product and informs sales staff.
• Review, discuss and approval of RFQ, price quotations and orders and get the Finance Manager and CEO approvals as needed.
• Reviewing and approval of credit sales transactions.
• Issue “goods issuance order” and determine the warehouse that the goods will be dispatched from.
• Reviewing, approval and get the needed approvals of account opening from Finance Manager and CEO.
• Follow up of YUNITCO debts and overdue payments and to make sure that all payments are paid and collected on time as per the agreed payment terms, in addition to seeking the approval of CEO for exceptional customers and the reporting of defaulted ones.
• Send a warning letter and consecutive visits in coordination with Senior Sales in charge & getting statement confirmation on monthly basis.
• Ask for discount for certain customer based on request from and get the approval of CEO.
• Review outstanding balances especially for customer with a long aging credit or big credit limit, or defaulted customer.
• Receiving, processing and investigating all customer complaints regarding YUNITCO products.
• Develop and implement the Company’s social media plan, as well as monitor and report on relevant social media activity and review social content for relevance and potential value.
• Any other duties assigned by the direct superior.
QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor’s degree with a major in business or marketing is required; an MBA in sales management is preferred. 5+ years’ experience in retail sales is preferred, with one or more in a leadership position. Good communication skills and the ability to work well with people are essential; good leadership skills are highly prized. Experience with sales, marketing, and spreadsheet applications e.g., CRM, Excel is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Regular travel by airplane and automobile in conducting business is required. Ability to communicate orally with customers, management, and other co-workers, both individually and in front of a group is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential.
Sitting for extended periods is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, receiving ordinary information, and preparing or inspecting documents.
No heavy lifting is expected. Exertion of up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally may be required. Good manual dexterity required for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and FAX machines.
Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of business problems. Able to apply statistical calculations, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, and sampling theory as well as algebra, linear equations, and other analytics as required. Able to understand and utilize financial reports and legal documents to conduct business.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The job is performed both indoors in a traditional office setting and outdoors traveling to and from customer accounts and sales offices. Activities include extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer or other device.
