The company:
Our client is a multinational Project Management and Engineering firm which operates in the railway sector. They are currently involved with the management of the Design of a new metro project in Saudi Arabia and they are looking for HSE MANAGER.
Objective:
To provide advice and support, necessary to assist managers and staff to fulfill their safety responsibilities to the high standards demanded by the business and to administer elements of the safety policies in order to maintain safe working conditions for employees and safe facilities for the general public by adhering to the Project safety standards and procedures.
To participate as a leader of the Business safety team and provide recommendations to the Business Unit on core business activities and the Manager for the development of the Safety Management System
To promote a zero tolerance of unsafe practice through challenge and support where issues are identified.
To promote the development, organization and delivery of health and safety training, instruction and information systems to ensure progress is maintained and barriers to achieving required standards are removed.
Responsmonsterstrongstrongcmonstermonsterstrongstrongcmonsterilities and functions:
Manages, directs, coordinates, and implements environmental, health and safety initiatives and actively participates in the resolution of issues relating to the environment, health and safety.
To co-ordinate and supervise Safety Advisers/Coordinators to ensure that adequate safety advice and resources
Can be provided to the business.
To ensure appropriate timely investigation and reporting of accidents and incidents including identification of immediate and underlying causes, actions to prevent recurrence and a robust defence of claims
Develop, maintain and continually improve written compliance programs pollution prevention, counter measure
and control plan.
Assists senior managers during the implementation of various corporate environmental, health and safety processes.
Ensure proper recordkeeping is being conducted at all facilities.
Analyze work environments and advise management on the control measures required to, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors that involve the impact of equipment design on a worker’s comfort or fatigue.
Conduct inspections and advise on enforcement and adherence to laws, regulations, or employer policies
governing worker health and safety.
Conduct training sessions for management, supervisors, and workers on health and safety practices and regulations, as necessary.
Assess work activities/places for potential accident and health hazards and advise on the implementation
appropriate control measures
Advise on emergency procedures, first-aid facilities, safety signs, relevant protective clothing and equipment, and incident reporting to the relevant authorities.
Liaison as necessary with other organizations and relevant authorities, and assistance and cooperation concerning audits and remedial actions.
Qualification & experience:
Graduate in engineering preferably MEP/Diploma. BSc in OSH.
Must be a holder of NVR-Level 4/Diploma 6/IOSH and NEBOSH General Certificate.
Experience around 1015 years in the Safety department of a large/complex project involved in MEP engineering.
Other requirements and competences:
Ability to communicate effectively to people at all levels within the construction industry community.
Maintain close working relationships with works package managers, project managers.
Promote Group health and safety abilities to staff and customers.
Good understanding of engineering decisions taken
Knowledge of local statutes and regulations governing drug and alcohol testing and employee safety.
